Tax Savers of Florida
Tax Savers of Florida is a long-established tax office based in Ocala, Florida, providing dependable tax, accounting, and payroll services for individuals, businesses, and organizations. With decades of experience and a consistent presence in the community, our team works with clients locally and across the country to support their ongoing financial and tax reporting needs.
A Reliable, Long-Established Tax Office
Tax Savers of Florida has been serving Central Florida since 1974, with deep roots in the Ocala community and a long-standing presence at the same location. The firm was founded by Marion County native Hilda Perry Surrency, who built the business on consistency, accessibility, and long-term client relationships. Over the years, she served thousands of individuals and organizations throughout the region, establishing a legacy of steady, dependable service that continues today.
The business remained family-operated for decades, with H. Skeet Surrency actively involved from its early years and later leading the firm full-time. In 2023, ownership transitioned to Peggy Thierheimer and Charlene Wheeler, ensuring continuity while maintaining the same knowledgeable, familiar staff and practical approach clients had come to expect. With Charlene’s addition to the team, additional accounting expertise and services have been made available. Today, Tax Savers of Florida continues to operate with the same steady focus—providing clear guidance, accurate work, and a consistent point of contact for clients who value an established office with real history behind it.
Based in Ocala, Serving Clients Nationwide
While Tax Savers of Florida has been based in Ocala since 1974, our client base extends well beyond Central Florida. Many clients continue working with us after relocating, while others come through long-standing referrals—relationships built over years of dependable service. We prepare returns and support individuals and entities across all 50 states, while remaining firmly grounded in our local office.
Our nationwide reach does not change how we work. Clients still communicate with a real team, follow clear processes, and receive the same level of attention regardless of location. Whether you are local or remote, new or long-established, you’ll be working with an office that has been doing this work for decades—and intends to keep doing it the same way.
The Experience Behind Our Work

Comprehensive Financial & Tax Support
Tax Savers of Florida provides practical financial and tax support for a wide range of clients, including individuals, businesses, partnerships, estates, trusts, and non-profit organizations. Our services are designed to support both annual filing needs and ongoing financial responsibilities, helping clients stay organized, informed, and prepared throughout the year.
Whether you need help with tax preparation, ongoing accounting and bookkeeping, payroll administration, or planning ahead for future tax obligations, our team offers clear guidance and consistent processes. We also assist clients with IRS notices, audits, and problem resolution when more complex situations arise. Each service area below is handled with the same attention to detail and straightforward approach that has defined our office for decades.
Individual & Corporate Tax Preparation
Tax Savers of Florida prepares individual and corporate tax returns with a careful, methodical approach that focuses on accuracy while identifying applicable deductions and credits to help reduce the amount of tax owed. We work with a wide range of filing situations and entity types, including individuals, businesses, partnerships, estates, trusts, and non-profit organizations. Each return is prepared with attention to detail and reviewed to ensure nothing is overlooked and that filings remain fully compliant with current tax requirements.
Before submitting your return, we take the time to review it with you and answer any questions so you understand how the numbers were determined and what to expect. Once finalized, returns are electronically filed to keep the process efficient and secure. The goal is straightforward: accurate reporting, no surprises, and a tax outcome that reflects your situation as favorably as the rules allow.
Accounting & Bookkeeping Services
Strong accounting and bookkeeping are what make everything else work smoothly—from tax preparation to long-term planning. Tax Savers of Florida provides accounting and bookkeeping services that help clients maintain clear, organized financial records throughout the year, not just at tax time. By keeping records accurate and up to date, we help reduce errors, avoid last-minute scrambling, and make year-end reporting far more straightforward.
Our approach is practical and consistent, focused on creating financial records that actually support your business or organization. Whether you need ongoing bookkeeping support or help getting things back on track, we work with you to establish clear processes that make sense for your situation. The result is cleaner reporting, fewer surprises, and better visibility into your financial position.
Payroll Services
Payroll involves more than issuing checks—it requires accuracy, timeliness, and attention to ongoing reporting obligations. Tax Savers of Florida offers payroll services designed to take that responsibility off your plate while keeping everything properly documented and coordinated. We help employers manage payroll in a way that supports compliance and integrates smoothly with their accounting and tax reporting.
Because payroll ties directly into quarterly filings and year-end tax requirements, our payroll services are handled with the same care as the rest of our financial work. Clients benefit from having payroll managed alongside their accounting and tax preparation, reducing disconnects and helping ensure that everything aligns when deadlines arrive. It’s a steady, reliable process built to support long-term operations.
Strategic Tax Planning
Strategic tax planning is about looking ahead, not just reacting when deadlines arrive. Tax Savers of Florida works with clients to identify opportunities and considerations that can affect future tax outcomes, helping individuals and organizations make informed decisions throughout the year. By understanding your financial picture in advance, we can help reduce uncertainty and support more thoughtful planning.
This service is especially valuable for business owners, organizations, and individuals with changing financial situations. Rather than relying solely on year-end adjustments, we focus on proactive conversations that help clients prepare for upcoming obligations and avoid preventable surprises. The result is a clearer path forward and better alignment between financial decisions and tax responsibilities.
IRS Audit Support & Problem Resolution
Receiving an IRS notice or audit request can be stressful, especially if you’re unsure how to respond. Tax Savers of Florida assists clients with IRS audit support and problem resolution by helping them understand what’s being requested and how to address it properly. We work through these situations methodically, focusing on accuracy, documentation, and clear communication.
Our experience allows us to guide clients through the process without unnecessary escalation or confusion. Whether the issue involves notices, discrepancies, or audit-related questions, we provide steady support and help manage the process from start to resolution. Clients benefit from having an established office on their side—one that knows how to handle these situations calmly and professionally.
